In Bloom

“A flower’s fragrance declares to all the world that it is fertile, available, and desirable, its sex organs oozing with nectar.  Its smell reminds us in vestigial ways of fertility, vigor, life-force, all the optimism, expectancy, and passionate bloom of youth.  We inhale its ardent aroma and, no matter what our ages, we feel young and nubile in a world aflame with desire.”
–  Diane Ackerman,  A Natural History of the Senses
Flowers
It seems that today luck brought us not only a gorgeous sunny day, but also a few hours without the children. This meant that we could get creative and take a couple of pictures that I hoped might work for this week’s challenge – Diptych.  I always find it quite freeing to be able to shed my clothes outdoors and there really is nothing better than the feeling of the sun on my skin so it turned out to be a really lovely afternoon. I even got to lay on the deck for a while and soak up some vitamin D so that should help me to make it to the end of term. One week and still counting!

To see who else is sinning this Sunday, please kiss the lips below.

  1. I so very nearly did something similar with the pink roses in my garden but I was not so lucky on the kids front as you so I used an image I took a while back but had never posted

  2. Lovely! You should get a load of flowers and do a nude photo shoot like that famous one from American Beauty, you know with the one I mean? You would just need a load of flowers, a bed, a step ladder (for your photographer) and Go! 😀 <3
